Situations where a VPN helps
Good reasons to connect
Hotel, airport and cafe Wi-Fi is shared, and whoever runs it, or anyone else on it, may try to look at traffic. With VPN Club on, everything between your device and our server is encrypted, so all they can tell is that you are connected to VPN Club. The same goes for your provider at home.
It is also handy abroad when you need services from home, and any time you would rather sites saw a server address than your own.
Limits of a VPN
Signing in to a site tells that site who you are, no matter which IP it sees. A VPN also cannot stop malware that you install yourself, so system updates and care with downloads still matter.
Some countries restrict or prohibit VPNs. Check the local rules before connecting there. A VPN does not make anything illegal legal.
Common questions
Is a VPN useful at home?
That depends on what bothers you. At home your provider can see which sites you open, and a VPN hides that. If that does not concern you, public Wi-Fi and services in other countries are the main reasons to connect.
Can I log in to my bank without a VPN?
Bank sites already encrypt the page with HTTPS. On public Wi-Fi, a VPN adds another layer and hides which sites you visit from the network owner. If your bank's app refuses VPN connections, leave it out with split tunneling.
Will every streaming service work from another country?
We cannot promise that. Some services restrict VPN servers, and their rules change often. Connect to a server in the country you want, and if it does not work, try a different server in that same country.
Is it fine to stay connected all day?
Yes. With no data caps or speed limits, you can leave VPN Club running. If one app misbehaves on the VPN, move it to split tunneling rather than switching the VPN off.
